Do not use the Municipal Court payment portal, drop box, motion forms or virtual-court information merely because the courthouse address matches. Those tools are labeled for municipal cases.

Broomfield’s official FAQ places misdemeanors and petty offenses—including DUI—under County Court. It also lists some traffic offenses there. If the caption names Broomfield County Court, Broomfield Combined Courts or the 17th Judicial District, use the state-court clerk information rather than the municipal clerk.
The Judicial Branch publishes 303-464-5020 as the main Combined Courts number. The current docket search can help verify a division or setting, but the filed notice remains the controlling instruction for the individual matter.

“Combined Courts” means county- and district-court functions are housed together. The city’s FAQ describes District Court as a separate level for categories such as felony, domestic-relations, probate and juvenile matters. The division and case type printed on the notice identify where a state case belongs.
For a DUI or traffic visitor, this distinction matters mainly as a warning: do not shorten the caption to “the Broomfield court.” State the complete court name, division and case number so staff can direct the inquiry accurately.

The city’s current FAQ says a person who missed a Municipal Court date, or wants to appear early, may appear as an add-on on the following Wednesday docket at 1:30 p.m. That is a published municipal procedure—not permission for every case and not a Combined Courts schedule.
Before traveling, call the municipal clerk, identify the case and confirm that the add-on process is still available for that matter. A temporary calendar change, warrant status or later court order may affect what the person must do.

Broomfield’s FAQ says Municipal Court does not enter a not-guilty plea merely from a pleading. It states that the court requires a pretrial conference before accepting the plea on the record. That describes the city court’s sequence; it does not promise a negotiation, amendment, dismissal or trial result.
A person considering any response should review the actual charge, deadline and official instructions. The procedure should not be assumed to apply to Broomfield County Court simply because both courts use 17 DesCombes Drive.

The current Broomfield virtual-court page says all Municipal Court proceedings are held in person. It says a motion must be filed and granted before a person may be heard virtually. The city also warns that its Zoom link is for Municipal Court cases—not Broomfield County cases.

The municipal FAQ lists accepted payment methods and says a drop box is located in front of the court building. It expressly says not to place cash in that drop box. Those instructions concern Municipal Court fines; the Combined Courts page publishes different collection details and says telephone payments are not accepted.
Payment can have legal and driving-record consequences depending on the charge. This guide does not advise whether to pay. First confirm which court owns the case, what the paperwork says payment means and which official payment channel belongs to that court.

A DUI-related event can create a state court case at 17 DesCombes Drive and a separate administrative license matter with the Colorado DMV. The courthouse address does not combine those systems.
The summons, complaint, bond paperwork and later court notices identify the court date and state-court division. Preserve each page, because a later notice may change the setting or appearance method. Calling Municipal Court does not protect a Combined Courts date, and contacting Combined Courts does not resolve a municipal setting.
The DMV administers hearing requests, restraints and reinstatement requirements. The applicable response period depends on what happened and which notice was issued. Do not wait for a Broomfield arraignment or pretrial conference before checking the current DMV instructions.
